Sefton puts mischief to bed

Your Travel Borough Wide Ltd played a key role in transporting over 2000 young people attended events during the October Half term period.
Sefton’s Community Safety Department brought a number of agencies together in August to discuss joint ways agencies can combat anti social behaviour, which costs the authority thousands of pounds each year in repairing criminal damage and places strain on policing across Merseyside.
Mischief night or mischievous night is a tradition in northern England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and the United States. In the night it is custom for preteens and teenagers to take a degree of license to play pranks and do mischief to their neighbours. This in recent years has been taken up by a yob culture to cause damage and allow unacceptable behaviour across Sefton & Merseyside, targeting cars, windows, community venues, schools, bus shelters, houses and the community in general. It was decided that a joint effort was to be formed and work with agencies, community groups and the people of Sefton to encourage young people to attend organised events in their area and also provide free transport to venues which are out of their area which they may not have had access to before.
